Shaeros and the White Tree

They floated upwards soundlessly. The soft hum of the tech silenced by the emptiness of outer space that clung to the moon's surface.

The particles would lessen it. Would build an atmosphere, a livable space for the people. For now they were still hiding under the domes, leaving the vast majority of Shan’ohs whitestoned plains to the Faye who didn’t need to breathe, and wandered it freely.

Shaeros watched the tree.

It had been his project for the last decades. The science behind it, the magic needed, the finesse of combining both together. He had bent them to their new purpose - it had been everything his life had evolved around. But seeing his success came with a bitter tinge, a mixture of pride and defeat. He did it. And now humans would soon be walking here. The serenity of the place would forever be lost.

That was the price of peace.
